Privacy

The short version

• We record no name, no email, no phone, no address from browsing the store.
• We never sell or share browsing data, and we do not run third-party ad scripts on this site.
• The only thing we keep is an anonymous, randomly-generated session id plus basic context (which page, how you arrived) — so we can learn which content is useful.
• Your dosha-quiz result, cart, wishlist and recently-viewed items live in your own browser, not in our records.

What we collect, and why

When you visit Veda Roots, the site sends a few lightweight, anonymous signals to our own server so we can understand what is working — for example, which articles people read, which products they look at, and how they found us. This is the same kind of first-party measurement a shopkeeper does by noticing which aisle is busy.

The specific events recorded are:

• page views and product views — which pages and products get attention;
• search terms typed on the site — so we can stock and write about what people are actually looking for;
• add-to-cart and begin-checkout — anonymous counts only, no item or buyer identity;
• quiz completion — only your primary/secondary dosha label (e.g. “Vata-Pitta”), never your answers;
• how you arrived — if a link carried standard utm_ campaign tags, or the domain you came from (the host only, never the full link or any query that might contain personal details).

Each of these is attached only to a random anonymous id generated in your browser. There is nothing in it that points to you personally.

What we deliberately do not collect

• No advertising or analytics SDKs from third parties (no Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar tags on this site);
• No cross-site tracking cookies;
• No IP addresses stored with your events;
• No browser fingerprinting;
• No your-name, email, or account data tied to browsing behaviour;
• No recording of the full referring URL — only the referring domain, to avoid capturing anything personal that might sit in a link.

What stays on your device

Some conveniences are stored only in your own browser’s local storage, under Veda Roots’s origin. They never leave your device and are not sent to our server:

• your dosha-quiz result;
• your cart, wishlist and recently-viewed products;
• your anonymous session id and first-touch attribution, so returning visits stay credited to the campaign that brought you.

Clearing your browser’s site data for Veda Roots removes all of the above instantly.

Your choices

Because we use no third-party tracking cookies, there is no cookie banner to manage and no ad networks to opt out of here. If you would still rather not be counted in our anonymous, first-party measures, you can:

• use your browser’s private/incognito mode;
• enable “prevent cross-site tracking” / strict tracking protection in your browser (our first-party beacons are non-essential and the site works fully without them);
• block /api/events in a content blocker — the store is fully functional without it.

None of these affect your ability to shop, read, or take the quiz.

About orders and contact

Anything you choose to share when placing an order or contacting us (for example, shipping details) is handled separately and only as needed to fulfil that order or reply to you. This page covers browsing measurement only, not order data.

How long we keep it

Anonymous browsing events are kept only as long as useful for understanding the store’s performance, and are aggregated before any review. Because they carry no personal identifier, they cannot be traced back to an individual.
